[Kinesiopractic®] Simply put, in complementary medicine, kinesiology means manually testing the muscles to see how they move, or if they don’t. In PKP we use light hand pressure to activate different muscles to see if they can hold their position. It isn’t meant to be hard work for you, or painful in any way. The tests show the person being tested how the muscles are working and how they are affected by injury, emotional or other stress.
There are many professions today using different kinds of muscle testing, including chiropractors, sports therapists, dentists, and other practitioners who apply various methods, in their clinical practice. We don’t all do the same kind of muscle testing and we are not all looking for the same kind of information.
PKP takes kinesiology beyond what is normally done by people using muscle testing and it has become known as kinesiopractic®
Dr Dewe (one of the founders of PKP) explains how Professional Kinesiology Practice (PKP) and Kinesiopractic® got started.
